In summer 1970, Heinz-R.
Merz purchased the Arabian mare Estopa from Miguel Osuna Escalera in
Spain.
This beautiful and attractive mare added type and a very special elegance to the newly founded breeding program of OM EL ARAB. Estopa's record as a show- and broodmare "especially in combination with Shaker El Masri" predestined her to become the foundation mare of OM EL ARAB; establishing a world-wide reputation in Arabian Horse breeding, producing some of the most influential Arabians in the world, and creating the very special OM EL ARAB look. |
